How much does a website cost in Kenya? An honest 2026 guide

October 12, 2026 / 2 min read

This is the first question I get on WhatsApp, every single week: 'How much for a website?' It is a fair question, and it deserves a straight answer instead of 'it depends'. So here are real ranges I quote in 2026, what moves the number up or down, and how to tell whether you are being overcharged - or under-served.

The honest ranges (2026, Kenyan Shillings)

  • Landing page - one focused offer or campaign: KSh 25,000 to 55,000. One page, built to sell one thing well, with testimonials and a clear call to action.
  • Business website - a strong online home that builds trust: KSh 55,000 to 140,000. Multiple pages: services, about, portfolio, contact, policies.
  • Brand identity - logo, colours, type, full asset kit: KSh 35,000 to 120,000. Best paired with a site so everything speaks one language.
  • Web apps and booking systems - flows, dashboards, payments: from KSh 140,000. Custom software is a different animal from a brochure site.

Every project also starts with a Blueprint - PRD, MVP scope, architecture, roadmap - so you know exactly what you are paying for before a single pixel is designed.

What actually changes the price

  • How many pages you need, and how much of the design is custom.
  • Booking flows, payments, client portals - any behaviour beyond reading.
  • Who writes the words. Copy is half the sale, and good copy takes time.
  • Photos and content: supplied ready, or shot and written from scratch.
  • Integrations: M-Pesa, WhatsApp, mail, CRM - each connection is real work.

Why some quotes say 5,000 bob

Some builders resell templates and charge almost nothing - and sometimes that is a fine way to test an idea. But a template is shared with thousands of other businesses, it is hard to make truly yours, and it is not built around how Kenyan customers actually buy. When the site does not bring you customers, the cheap site was the expensive one.

A custom build is closer to buying a shopfront than printing a poster. You are paying for positioning, trust, and a machine that keeps selling while you sleep.

How I quote

Every project starts with a short Hive Brief - a WhatsApp conversation where I ask the questions that matter. Then you get the Blueprint and a fixed scope. No surprise bills, no vague 'we will see as we go'. If your budget is smaller than the range, I will tell you honestly what is possible now and what can wait.

Want a number for your idea? Send one message - the first conversation is free.

Have a project like this in mind?

Start with a short message. The first conversation is free, and you will leave it knowing the right next step - whether or not we build together.
